Zowie Vukasinovic, a 9-year-old Summit resident, camped out overnight outside Macy's in Herald Square for a chance to meet the Biebs!
Tuesday morning my mom was browsing on Facebook and saw that Z100 was giving away tickets to meet Justin Bieber. We knew the chance of winning those tickets was ZERO, so we called Macy’s to find out more about the event. They told us that the first 325 people to buy Justin Bieber’s fragrance ‘Someday’ would get to meet him and take a picture with him Thursday morning.
So we decided to go to New York and camp out in front of Macy’s with all the other fans and be one of the first ones in line.
We arrived around 7 p.m. Tuesday evening and were among the first 60 people there. We sat next to some really nice girls and their moms.

We pitched in to by a huge sleeping bag and used it to lay on or playing cards. We spent the night walking around a lot and taking pictures and videos of the other fans in line. We talked, sang, and laughed a lot. The first 25-30 fans had some trouble with cockroaches and rats ... sooo gross!
I got really tired in the morning and fell asleep at around 5 or 6 a.m. The press arrived at 8 and started filming us. So cool.
When they opened the door at 10 a.m. they let us go in in groups and we were finally able to buy the package (2 bottles of the fragrance, 1 body lotion, 1 hair scent, 1 laptop sleeve) and – finally – the ticket to see the Biebs!
We went home to freshen up and rest. Thursday morning our alarm didn’t go off and we overslept a bit. We took the 7 a.m. train to NY but it broke down and we had to go to Hoboken and take the Path... not fun.
When we got there we were the fifth ticket holder to arrive. But the security guy told us to leave and come back later. At 10 a.m. we went to the 8th floor to form a line. Some girls started begging me to take them inside, they were really aggressive, even tried to take my tag. My mom took it from me to keep it safe. Unfortunately they sent us away agin and told us not to show up before 12:30. But when we got back at 12:15 they had already let people in the waiting area: we were sooooo mad. So we sat down and waited until 4:30 p.m.! We were all yelling ‘we want Justin!’ and sometimes we sang really loud.
Finally they got the line moving. My mom had to stand behind the security guard with all the other moms and I waited in the “Take a Picture with Bieber” line. Finally it was my turn, but a worker from Justin’s crew dragged me into a group photo with Justin. I was really upset and told Justin that I really wanted a picture with only him and me in it. He said I should talk to Kenny, his bodyguard, so I can get a single picture with him. I talked to Kenny and he said that I could definitely get one. Then he asked if I really liked Justin and the crew and I said yes, so Kenny introduced me to Patty, Scooter, and a lot of other people. Then I got my picture taken with JUSTIN BIEBER!
After that I was crying so much because I had finally met Justin Bieber and he was so nice and respectful. I like him 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 times more now; I never thought that was even possible! I cant wait to see him again and I would camp out again to get tickets for one of his event.
Oh, one more thing: THANK YOU, MOM!
