Bieber fever spreads from Hollywood to a local mall as Justin and Selena hit the shops

Friday night out at the mall is a typical date night for most American teens but not for Hollywood's most famous young couple.
Young love: Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez looked like any young local couple as they walked through the mall at the Shops at Liberty Place in Philadelphia today
Heartthrob Justin Bieber sent hearts fluttering when he held hands with girlfriend Selena Gomez as the cute-as-pie pair picked up smoothies during a trip to the Shops at Liberty Place in Philadelphia today.
Casually dressed in jeans and t-shirts, the couple easily blended in with the other shoppers at the mammoth mall and looked more like high school kids than millionaire music makers.
They were visiting the Pennsylvania city so that Disney star Selena could meet eager fans at mega-store Kmart on Philadelphia's Market Street to promote her Dream Out Loud apparel collection.
Sweet fix: Justin and Selena picked up cold treats at Smoothie King at the mall
It is most likely going to be brief trip to the east coast for the couple, as Justin is expected to be one of the countless A-list celebrities attending Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries' star-studded wedding on Saturday in Santa Barbara, California.
The Baby singer caught up with his good friend during her final week as a single woman at the VH1 Do Something Awards on Sunday.
They joked last year that they were girlfriend and boyfriend despite the 13 year age gap - and now 17-year-old Justin will most likely see 30-year-old Kim walk down the aisle for the second time.

Justin Bieber cardboard cutout wows Yellowknife

Justin Bieber has never performed in Yellowknife before, but the northern city has a case of "Bieber Fever" thanks to a cardboard facsimile of the pop star at a local drugstore.
The two-metre-tall Bieber cutout stands by the cosmetic counter at the Shoppers Drug Mart in downtown Yellowknife, as part of a store promotion.
Staff told CBC News that in the past six weeks they have received 20 inquiries a day from people who want to take the cardboard Bieber home after the promotion is over.
One of those inquiries came from Diane Zoe, whose daughter Natasha fell in love with the Bieber facsimile at first sight.
"When we first came in, she's like, 'Mom, I want to get that!' And I was like, 'What, the cardboard?'" Zoe recalled.
"A few days later, I think, I came in and asked if I could buy one or [if they] could say whether we could have it later on."
Prompts double-takes, photos
Regardless of whether they are fans of Bieber or not, customers entering the Yellowknife drugstore have done double-takes upon spotting Bieber's cardboard doppelganger.
"I've actually got a couple of cellphone pictures with the 'Biebs' already," said Devin Boyd of Yellowknife.
When asked if he has requested the cardboard cutout, Boyd replied, "No, although I have planned on trying to walk away with him a couple times."
A similar Bieber cutout was recently stolen from a Shoppers Drug Mart in Guelph, Ont., according to staff at the Yellowknife store.
As for the Bieber cutout's future in the Northwest Territories capital, no decision has yet been made on what to do with it. Staff said they are considering a number of options, such as a charity draw, raffle or auction.

Justin Bieber Fans Nearly Crush Chelsea Handler, In 'VMAs Revealed'

Learn how an army of Beliebers almost mauled the 2010 VMA host on 'VMAs Revealed,' airing Saturday at noon ET on MTV.

It seems that Justin Bieber can't so much as step outside without inciting a riot of considerable magnitude, so it was to be expected that his performance at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards — supposedly a secret song-and-dance routine set outside the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles — would probably attract some attention.
But VMA producers had no idea just how out-of-hand things would get — or how close VMA host Chelsea Handler would be to being mauled by Justin's army of Beliebers as a result. It was all thanks to one harmless tweet by JB himself, as we learn in "VMAs Revealed," a new behind-the-scenes special set to air this Saturday at noon ET on MTV.
It all started before the VMAs, during Bieber's rehearsals. Producers planned to have Handler exit the theater and take a spot at the front of the stage, holding a sign that read "Chelsea hearts Justin." Everything was going swimmingly until an army of Bieber fanatics got wind of things.
"Out on the Nokia Plaza, they were rehearsing Justin Bieber's performance," MTV News VP Ryan Kroft explains in "Revealed." "[And] if you sort of stopped and paid attention, out comes Chelsea Handler in curlers."
Of course, on the night of the big show — after Bieber had tweeted about "free tickets to [his] VMA performance" — things changed. The Nokia Plaza was positively packed with screaming Bieber fans, who didn't take kindly to Handler's intrusion — and they let her know by crowding up against a barricade, nearly crushing her and sending all plans out the window.
Producers never quite got a good shot of Handler and her sign — "I think you can see her sign bobbing around, you just can't see her head. She should've worn the curlers," Kroft said — but luckily, she escaped serious bodily harm. And the true Beliebers ended up being happy too: Not only did they get to see a once-in-a-lifetime performance from their idol, but Bieber would go on to win the VMA for Best New Artist later that night.

Girls Auctioning Off Virginity for Justin Bieber Tickets

Justin Bieber has an effect on women, and we’re not talking about gal pal Selena Gomez, kids. But things have taken a turn for the worst when it comes to hysterical Beliebers. Mexican teens are auctioning off their virginity (!!!) in order to nab tickets to see the singer perform live.

The video below shows Mexican girls wringing their hands, gnashing their teeth and (it sounds like) speaking in tongues with hysteria over The Biebs and being unable to get a ticket to witness him in concert. It looks like a scene from ‘The Exorcist.’
These girls are taking their fandom to the limit, as there are far more appropriate ways to get tickets to a show. As Popdust so wisely points out, Stub Hub is a miracle of modern ticketing for rabid fans. So is eBay. One of the teens could even plead her case to The Biebs himself over Twitter. Sure he has 12 million followers, but you never know what tweet could land before those dreamy eyes.
But in all seriousness, to offer one’s virginity for tickets? That’s creepy and could lead to a meat market of dudes with dishonorable intentions and cause irreversible danger and damage to these fans. He’s just a teen idol and we’d venture the guess that even he would think auctioning off something as special as one’s virginity is beyond ridiculous.
A Mexican newspaper report on this matter has been roughly translated by Uproxx:
The black market of the Internet to get tickets for the concert of Justin Bieber on the Internet has reached the point of offering the first sex in exchange for a concert ticket, as published by the portal sdpnoticias.com.
Real scenes of hysteria were posted on YouTube by girls who could not get a ticket. Now things have gone to another level. According to that reported by the newspaper El Norte, a girl has even offered its first time in exchange for a ticket to see the Canadian artist.
“My virginity for a ticket to Justin Bieber, urgeee me,” wrote a user’s social network Facebook.
In addition, some “vivales” have used to seek to change tickets in exchange for the company of a girl, the same newspaper reported.
While that report is transcribed in broken English, it’s still alarming — across the board.
Hey Biebs, pony up some tickets to stop what amounts to sex trafficking. Put ‘em on your guest list!

Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez The Sexiest Couple in Music?

Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez were recently crowned with yet another honor: They've been deemed the number one sexiest couple in music, according to PopDust. And they have good company on the top ten list of hot couples in the industry with moguls Jay-Z and Beyoncé following at a close second and Russell Brand and Katy Perry in fourth.

There's even an American Idol on the list: Carrie Underwood and her husband Mike Fisher. Of course, noticeably absent is Idol judge Jennifer Lopez who has recently split from husband, Marc Anthony.
This sexiest couples list isn't without some surprising additions, though; stars who are less well-known and less buzzed-about than Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez who constantly contend with a fan frenzy at all times. For example, rapper Wiz Khalifa and Amber Rose, along with Kings of Leon's Caleb Followill and his Victoria's Secret model wife Lily Aldridge, both snagged a spot on the top ten ranking.
But who is missing? Now that Taylor Swift and Taylor Lautner are rumored to be together again, they definitely are hot and popular enough to join Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez on the list -- that is, if they stay together long enough, and Swift isn't forced to pen yet another boy trouble song.
And any sexiest couples roster seems incomplete without perhaps the hottest relationship in Hollywood right now: Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart. He moonlights as a guitar- and piano-playing musician who has even given pointers to fellow Breaking Dawn co-star Kellan Lutz. That should count for some music cred, at least enough to join this list!

Justin Bieber excited about new record

Justin Bieber has hit the studio with producer Tricky Stewart to cut songs for his new album.

Justin is currently working on his second studio album after his first record My World 2.0 garnered chart success worldwide. In a bid to move away from his teeny-bop glory, Justin is collaborating with cutting-edge producers like Tricky Stewart and the more underground Soundz. He is so elated about joining forces with them he took to Twitter to express his delight.
"in the studio writing with @TrickyStewart - last time this happened a song called BABY happened. LEGGO. #believe," Justin tweeted. "At the studio writing for my album with @trickystewart and @soundzdope follow them ... #BELIEVE (sic)."
Justin has collaborated with singer Chris Brown and super producer Kanye West this year. These musical moves suggest he is interested in taking a more adult direction with his newest works.
Producer Tricky has crafted several hit tunes in recent years including Beyoncé Knowles' Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It) and Rihanna's Umbrella. Justin is taking an active part in the production as well and is excited about entering new creative planes with this album.
"[I'm] writing about how I feel and producing,' Justin said to MTV News in June. ''ve been producing on my laptop and on my computer. I've been really into it and, hopefully, this next album will be huge."
Justin's newest album is rumoured to be entitled Believe, but the name has not been confirmed. It is expected to be released this Fall.

Teen Heartthrob Justin Bieber Honored with ‘Do Something Award’

Widely known for his singing and good looks, Justin Bieber won a Do Something Award on Aug. 14, in Los Angeles at the Do Something Awards.

The singing sensation, who attended sans Selena Gomez, won his award in the ‘Do Something Music Artist’ category. He was up against Nick Jonas, Lady Gaga, Adam Lambert, Linkin Park, Will.i.am and the Black Eyed Peas. The 17 year-old beat out these philanthropic artists for his work in making Public Service Announcements for bullying and his ‘don’t text and drive’ campaign. He even gives part of his income to charities, such as ‘Pencils for Promise,’ which was recognized at the awards.
Formerly called the BRICK Awards, the awards have celebrated people for 17 years and honored them for their work in doing something special for communities. It especially recognizes young people and encourages others to follow in the footsteps of the youth who volunteer and help others.
Other award winners included actress Olivia Wilde and soccer player David Beckham. Glee star, Jane Lynch, hosted the awards for the second consecutive year.
Each year, five young people are awarded with a $10,000 community grant for the differences they make in communities. One of the five also receives a grand prize of $100,000 for the charity of their choice.

Justin Bieber admits not everyone takes him seriously

Justin Bieber will be on stage Thursday night accepting the award for his contributions to the community. The entertainer is part of the VH1 Do Something Awards airing Thursday and received an award for his actions that make a difference.

While the typical award show is expected to bring a thankful moment where people can say a few words to the fans, Bieber’s speech is anything but typical. Sharing a fact that not everyone takes him seriously, he addresses the issue with the audience and shares something he has never readily admitted on stage before.
“I know some people don't take me seriously because I am so young, but I am able to make a change," said Justin Bieber. “I want to say thank you to the young people and the old people too I guess."
Justin Bieber got a roaring response to the remarks, but it wasn’t just because it was funny as many of the teenagers in the crowd understood not being taken seriously. With extraordinary pressures of the younger years, most teens and tweens don’t feel that adults even remotely take them seriously in any capacity. Connecting with the superstar, there was a moment of bonding between the celebrity and his fans.

Congrats Justin: 12 Million Twitter Followers!

Justin Bieber has breached 12 million Twitter followers! The teen star broke the milestone today, sparking "Congrats Justin" to be plastered all over the site. Of course.

The Bieb definitely has an impressive number of Twitter followers, but he doesn't have the MOST. Lady Gaga holds that title, with 12,789,352 as of this instant. Still, the Bieb is close! These two have battled continuously for the top spot, and it's likely to change at any time.
In other Bieber news, he's apparently heading to Kim Kardashian's wedding this morning and we all want to know if he'll be bringing his gal Selena Gomez. The reality star apparently had to tell guests they weren't allowed to bring plus-ones because of space restrictions, so we wonder if she got an invite of her own -- or the Bieb's plus-one is an exception. We'll find out this weekend...

Kid Rock - Kid Rock Sold Justin Bieber 'Evil' Bus

Kid Rock hopes Justin Bieber "sanitised" the "evil" tour bus he sold him.
The wholesome 17-year-old 'Baby' singer bought his touring vehicle from rap-rocker Kid, who claims he had altogether more debauched uses for it when he was driving it across the US on tour.

He told magazine Time Out Chicago: "I was like, 'Did you have that thing sanitised, young man?' I had the bus made with all red leather. That bus, for a few years, was just evil. We called it the Devil's Den.
"It had embossed Detroit D's, a skylight and a fibre-optic see-through shower. You just look at it, and go, 'Oh, doesn't look like anything positive happened in here'. Now it's like an ice-cream truck."
Now he's not as busy touring, and is settled into trying to forge a country music career, Kid is enjoying living in Alabama, in the South of the US.
He explained: "I just bought some property in Alabama. We got f***ing 1,600 acres to just be general rednecks on. We hunt and fish. Have big-ass bonfires and build little structures that you'd never get approved in some city. Just shoot machine guns to cut down trees, fire off Civil War cannons. Have shrimp boils."

Robert Pattinson or Justin Bieber - Who's the Most Giving Boyfriend?

Robert Pattinson and Justin Bieber are two of the hottest young stars in Hollywood, but that's not all they have in common. The two hunks are also extremely giving to their girlfriends, Kristen Stewart and Selena Gomez. So, which one is the best gift giver?

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart have been dating for years. Although they choose to keep their relationship very private, fans have spotted the couple sharing everything from clothing to musical instruments. RPattz even recently gave KStew a golden locket worth $40,000.
Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez are a very different kind of couple. The teenagers, who have been dating since late last year, are extremely open about their relationship. In fact, "Jelena" has been seen engaging in steamy PDA sessions all around the globe. The Biebs loves his girl so much that he's even gifted her a $30,000 Chanel watch.
Wow. Rob and Justin both seemingly love spending money on their girlfriends, but who is the biggest giver? According to a recent poll, RPattz takes the title. Not only will he buy KStew jewelry, he'll give her the shirt off his back. (How romantic!)
Rob may be a bit more giving, but there's no doubt about it, Kristen Stewart and Selena Gomez are both very lucky girls. Robert Pattinson and Justin Bieber are obviously very sweet and loving boyfriends.

Selena Gomez: Justin Bieber's dance moves are funny!

Selena Gomez thinks that Justin Bieber's dance moves are funny! The Who Says singer poked fun at her guy, who danced in the audience while she performed Love You Like a Love Song at the Teen Choice Awards.

"I like [his dance moves]. I thought they were funny," Selena said. If you caught a glimpse of The Biebs dancing in the crowd, he was doing some arm movements and singing right along the whole time (check them out in the video below). It was a really sweet moment for the two and people could really see how supportive of one another they really are. Although they are young, they are just really connected and it's so nice.
Justin's dance moves really get people talking—especially his crotch-grabbing when he's on stage! He may only be 17 years old but the kid has swag, doesn't he? Obviously Selena digs him and laughter is a great thing to have in a relationship. Do you think Justin's dance moves are funny?

Justin Bieber and Sean Kingston, ‘Won’t Stop’ – Song Review

BFFs Justin Bieber and Sean Kingston have combined their massive efforts into a one big rap-packed anti-hate track, ‘Won’t Stop,’ from Kingston’s forthcoming ‘King of Kingz’ mixtape.

“They try to bring me down, but I won’t stop / They want me in the ground, but I won’t stop / Til I’m dead, man, I won’t stop,” the boys spurt, laying the groundwork for the rap flow to follow.
‘Won’t Stop,’ as well-intentioned as it may be, is pretty slow as far as rap jams go … And we don’t just mean the tempo. By mid song, even following Kingston’s verse, we’re anything but wowed.
In walks Bieber with a little rhyme spitting of his own:
“Yeah they talk, yeah they talk / They don’t walk the walk I walk / I won’t stop till I drop / Until then I reach the top / I’m gonna rock to where I need to be / Walk the path of destiny / Definitely been neglected but God is always testing me / Rest in peace to all the men that died that were protecting me,” he says in a speak-easy way, before leading into a PSA that could have been ripped straight from the pages of his diary.
“Objectively, I need to tell you what just gets the best of me / Essentially, people in this world just wanna let it be / John Lennon meant it different / Don’t just let it be, set it free / Never be scared to lay change effectively / Always look at things from different ways, perspectively / Every person in this world can do good / I just want this message understood,” Bieber continues in his usual spread-love-not-hate manner.

Sure, the message behind the song is absolutely a positive, albeit a bit fuzzy. From what we gather, Sean and Justin are going to take over the world, while paying no attention to the haters, and they want you guys to see all of the good things the world has to offer … Until they die. That’s good, right? We think so, anyway.
Admittedly, we’re Beliebers, but we don’t really belieb this is going to be a hit, despite the all-star pairing. Maybe next time, boys.

Harrods unveils Justin Bieber ice cream sundae

London's famous department store will sell the Bieber Bocker Glory for £19.95 with all proceeds going to the singer's chosen UK charity, Make-A-Wish-Foundation.

High end department store Harrods in London is to sell an ice cream sundae named after singer Justin Bieber.
The creation of the sundae was inspired by the launch of Bieber’s new perfume, Someday, at the store
The hot-weather treat, which retails at £19.95, will be sold on the store’s new Ice Cream Parlour which opened on the second floor earlier this month.
All profits made on sales of the ‘Bieber Bocker Glory’ – so named as a pun on the popular Knickerbocker Glory sundae – will go to the Make-A-Wish-Foundation, Bieber’s favourite UK charity.
Fans can expect a blend of wild berry and vanilla ice cream with fresh pear, lavender sprinkles and edible glitter.
Naming food goods after celebrities has been tried and tested elsewhere. Food brands such as Walkers crisps and Ben & Jerry’s ice cream have both borrowed famous names to increase sales of their products.

Justin Bieber: Michael Jackson Material? 'Black Eyed Peas' Star Believes

Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez are as hot as Sonny and Cher were back in the day. But is JB the next Michael Jackson? Fergie's Blacked Eyed Peas band mate really believes so.

Will.i.am believes the Beiber "can't lose with the stuff he uses." Granted, he is dating one of the most hottest female pop stars in the game now, has smash hit after smash hit, is enjoying a successful "My World Tour," and can rap.
"Justin Bieber could be like Prince...like Michael Jackson where his career is like, for like, 'Wow! Explain its 2030..., your career is so long. You're the first artist to be broadcasted to Mars. How do you fee about that?'" Fergie's band mate told Radio Disney.
But dating the Wizards of Waverly Place actress, selling millions of copies of Never Say Never, and raking in the dough with concert tours is not enough to give Bieber with the honor in becoming the next Michael Jackson.
Then, there are others who light up the stage with a Jackson-esque style of dancing. When it comes to performing on stage like the Thriller pop star did, Usher and Chris Brown come to mind. But they are no Michael Jackson.
They both have sold millions of records, collaborated with the Bieb -- and one is even his mentor. But together, they don't come close to the iconic stature as the late MJ. Remember Justin Bieber has been in the game for two years, while the "Never Can Say Goodbye" star has been around for decades.
What was Will.i.am thinking? Well, never say never; stranger things have happened.

Miley Cyrus Beats Justin Bieber to Be Celebrity Bowling Hall of Fame Inductee

The 'Can't Be Tamed' singer follows the footsteps of last year's inductee Taylor Swift by scoring a come-from-behind victory, denying the likes of Lady GaGa and Jeff Bridges the chance.

Miley Cyrus has secured her inducted into the Celebrity Bowling Hall of Fame. Collecting 42% of votes that was cast between July 12 and August 6 this year, the former "Hannah Montana" star beat out strong contender Justin Bieber, who trailed behind with 30% of votes.
Steve Johnson, executive director of the Bowling Proprietors' Association of America, admitted to have predicted the battle between the two stars. He said in a press release, "We knew that with mega stars such as Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber in our line-up that this year's race would be a close one."
"Fueled by the passion and support of her supporters and bowling fans worldwide, Ms. Cyrus rose to the occasion scoring an incredible comeback victory," Johnson continued on. "We are honored to welcome her into the Hall of Fame and grateful for her support of the great sport of bowling."
Aside from Bieber, Cyrus also came out victorious over other nominees that are also comprised of Hollywood stars, professional athletes and Hip-Hop artists. Brothers Nick Jonas and Joe Jonas settled for third with 10%, "Tron Legacy" star Jeff Bridges got fourth place with 5%, and Lady GaGa rounded up top 5 with 3%.
This is the second year in a row the induction slipped out of Bieber's grab although he has already had an early lead in the competition. Last year, the teen pop sensation has to admit defeat from country music star Taylor Swift, who made a comeback in the final hours.

Young man steals 'Bieber'

BRADENTON, Fla., Aug. 15 (UPI) -- A 23-year-old Florida man is facing theft charges for allegedly stealing a life-size Justin Beiber cutout from a record store, police say.

David Dowling and a friend entered the F.Y.E. record store at a Bradenton, Fla., mall Saturday afternoon and left the store without paying for the Bieber cutout, The Smoking Gun reported.
Dowling and his friend then ran through Sears, but were apprehended by an F.Y.E. assistant manager.
"The assistant manager of F.Y.E. gave chase and caught up with them and retrieved the cutout and told them to return with her to the store," police said.
However, the two fled the mall and were later found outside hiding in some bushes.
Dowling, who remains in jail in lieu of $120 bond, was charged with a misdemeanor count for allegedly stealing the cutout, which cost $34.99.
After his arrest, Dowling told police "We were just having fun holding Justin Bieber hostage."

Justin Bieber Leads Top Celebrity Winners at 2011 Do Something Awards

Justin Bieber leads Hollywood celebrities honored at the 2011 Do Something Awards held in Los Angeles, California, Sunday, Aug. 14, 2011.

The Canada’s teen sensation has been recognized for making not just one but millions “less lonely girls” (and surely some teen boys) for his music.
At Sunday’s award’s night, the 17-year-old Hollywood sensation received the Best Music Artist statue for making such a great impact on his millions of tween fans.
But the tween sensation surely is recognized not only for his music but equally important, for his philanthropic efforts. It will be recalled that in February this year, Justin cut his hair and gave a lock to TV host, Ellen DeGeneres for any charity of her own choice. It was sold at $40,668!
Justin Bieber is among the first celebrity stars to raise funds for the devastating twin disaster in Japan and would insist on flying to the country despite his crew’s protest.
But it was not only Biebs who was honored at this year’s Do Something Awards hosted by Jane Lynch.

Justin Bieber Back to Tweeting About Fans Not Selena Gomez

Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez are still together. No shock there, right? While Selena continues to tour, Justin shifted some of his Twitter love to his fans on Sunday (August 14) evening.

Of course, these same fans earned him yet another surfboard at the Teen Choice Awards last week. Here is what Justin Bieber reminds himself about his fans via Twitter:
keep in touch with the fans...never forget who got you here....always show love. #thisisafamily #REAL
With Justin's "fan cut" of Never Say Never hitting stores on August 23, exclusively at Target, it is not much of a surprise that he is keeping it real with his fans. These are the nearly 12 million followers on Twitter and countless millions of viewers watching him on YouTube.
These same fans fuel his Tumblr blog devoted to the just fans and the zillion girls that made his perfume the best-selling celebrity fragrance of the year. These same fans vote him for Teen Choice awards, sell out his shows, and create flash mobs wherever he seems to go. These same fans made him famous enough to date Selena Gomez.
How could Justin Bieber even begin to forget his fans, as they are seemingly there at every turn? The important part here is to the "always show love" part. One thing is for sure, at least at this point, is that Justin is constantly giving shout-outs to his fans, featuring his fans, and trying to stay close to his fans.
Bieber-fever may never have been hotter than now. Justin continues to have fun riding this wave...the fun coming from the fans that put him on the surfboard, or at least voted to give him one at the Teen Choice Awards.
