Justin Bieber and Chris Brown release disturbing 'Next 2 You' video

Justin Bieber and Chris Brown may seem like an unlikely pair, but the duo have come together to release a video for their single "Next 2 You." The video is heavy on the explosions, flames, lightning, and destruction. It's an entirely different experience from a typical pop star video, and not necessarily in a good way.

So, how do the song and video rate with fans so far?  As of Monday, June 20, 2011, the "Next 2 You" video is absent from the top 100 most downloaded videos on iTunes.  However, the single itself is rated number 85 on the iTunes songs chart.

Boston, MA residents will see a very different side of Justin Bieber from what they witnessed during his November 2010 appearance at the TD Garden.  Bieber's Boston concert was completely sold out.  His live performance was very different from his new video "Next 2 You" with Chris Brown.

The gritty and disturbing video will probably appeal to die-hard Justin Bieber and Chris Brown fans who idolize the young celebrities' every move, both personal and professional. However, many people are sure to dislike the singers' new direction. Pop music is supposed to be fun.

The bottom line is that Justin Bieber and Chris Brown are unlikely to lose fans just because of one dark and disturbing video. In fact, they might actually find recognition from a wider audience, if they're lucky. Hopefully, they won't alienate their fan base in the process.

It will be particularly interesting to see how Justin Bieber's youngest fans respond to the violent new video. According to PopEater, the video may be "a little too intense."

After a rough cut of the Colin Tilley-directed 'Next 2 You' video leaked earlier this month, the official version of Justin Bieber and Chris Brown's collaboration is finally here.

"It's here," the 17-year-old pop star tweeted on Friday. "NEXT 2 YOU...from singing WITH YOU in my apartment to this...DREAM BIG. ENJOY!! thanks. #epic."

The cinematic music video clocks in at just over six minutes, and shows the two singers struggling to be reunited with their loved ones after an end-of-the-world event. While Justin is in a star-crossed relationship, Chris is madly in love and desperate to find his girl in the midst of the destruction.

Justin keeps having flashbacks to the good times with his girlfriend, and as the R&B stars sing their hearts out, their ladies cross paths in a shocking way. But don't worry Beliebers -- in the end love conquers all.

With almost a million singles sold in the UK from his Top 10 album F.A.M.E, Chris Brown is set to release another smash Next To You feat. global superstar Justin Bieber on 15th August.

The song, written by Chris, features the singers paying tribute to the special ladies in their lives. It’s the type of optimistic, warm song that fills listeners with hope and promise about finding a perfect love.

The video is something of a mini movie, directed by Chris Brown favourite Colin Tilley and features Justin Bieber, as well as Shannon Elizabeth from American Pie. Next To You will premiere online simultaneously worldwide on VEVO and VEVO@YouTube on Friday, June 17th commencing at 12am Eastern Time (5am BST in the UK)

Brown co-wrote the majority of F.A.M.E., the follow-up to his 2X Grammy-nominated 2009 album, Graffiti. Sporting collaborations with Justin Bieber, Lil Wayne, Wiz Khalifa, and Ludacris, among others, F.A.M.E. has drawn various critical accolades. Chris Brown Claims 'Next 2 You' Video With Justin Bieber Is 'Epic'

After an unfinished version of their music video for 'Next 2 You' leaked online, Justin Bieber and Chris Brown have been quiet about the upcoming promo but now Breezy has said that the finished cut is "epic".

The unedited version of their Colin Tilley-directed promo shows the pair hanging out with their girlfriends shortly before they are separated and the world has been torn apart. In the post-apocolyptic promo, Breezy and Bieber then go searching for their lost loved ones, all while showing off some serious moves.

Yesterday Breezy tweeted about watching the final version, the 22-year-old tweeted yesterday: "Just watched the final version of "next 2 u"! Very inspirational, energetic, Epic video!"
