Harrods unveils Justin Bieber ice cream sundae

London's famous department store will sell the Bieber Bocker Glory for £19.95 with all proceeds going to the singer's chosen UK charity, Make-A-Wish-Foundation.

High end department store Harrods in London is to sell an ice cream sundae named after singer Justin Bieber.
The creation of the sundae was inspired by the launch of Bieber’s new perfume, Someday, at the store
The hot-weather treat, which retails at £19.95, will be sold on the store’s new Ice Cream Parlour which opened on the second floor earlier this month.
All profits made on sales of the ‘Bieber Bocker Glory’ – so named as a pun on the popular Knickerbocker Glory sundae – will go to the Make-A-Wish-Foundation, Bieber’s favourite UK charity.
Fans can expect a blend of wild berry and vanilla ice cream with fresh pear, lavender sprinkles and edible glitter.
Naming food goods after celebrities has been tried and tested elsewhere. Food brands such as Walkers crisps and Ben & Jerry’s ice cream have both borrowed famous names to increase sales of their products.

Justin Bieber: 'With Time Off, I'm Able to Think, Pray and Grow Up' (Exclusive)

"When you’re working every day, you don’t really get a chance to figure out who you are," says the 17-year-old, who's breaking yet another record with the launch of his fragrance, "Someday."

Justin Bieber has seen more than his share of firsts in the last couple of years: he was the first artist to hit half a billion views on YouTube, the first -- and youngest -- performer to chart seven singles on the Billboard Hot 100, all from a debut album, and, most recently, the first male celebrity (who’s not a fashion designer) to release a woman’s perfume.
And like all things Bieber, Someday is on track to be the biggest fragrance launch ever, with sales topping $30 million, and a portion of the proceeds earmarked for two charities of Bieber’s choosing -- Pencils of Promise, founded by Adam Braun (brother of Bieber’s manager Scooter Braun) and the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
“I didn’t know what to expect,” Bieber tells The Hollywood Reporter. “I thought it would be successful because it’s a good smell, no matter what, but to be the number one fragrance? That’s amazing.” Indeed, according to Give Back Brands, which manufactured the scent, some of its partner retailers, which include Macy’s, Sephora and Lord & Taylor, are struggling to keep Someday in stock.
Equally incredible is how involved Bieber was in the production process of the fragrance. Give Back president Robert Hollander says he, for one, was thoroughly impressed: “Justin was incredibly hands-on. From the design of the bottle to the name, every decision that had to be made, he was involved in.”
And, of course, there was the scent itself. To come up with the “fruity gourmand” flavor, Bieber says he sampled other celebrity perfumes. “I tried Britney’s fragrance and a couple others, but I wanted to make something that was my own… I know what I like on a girl and I care more about what a female smells like than a man, so I didn’t really think it was right for me to do a cologne.” (Worth noting: he doesn't rule out a future men's scent.)
Besides, adds Bieber, the purpose of Someday was to give back. “When I was on tour last summer, I had Make-A-Wish in most cities,” he says. “For so many people, their wish was to meet me, and when they did, they were so hopeful and that’s a great feeling. I just wanted to help as many people as I could.”
As for Pencils of Promise, Bieber takes great pride in mobilizing his fanbase to make even the smallest of donations, as the charity’s name encourages. “It’s about encouraging young people to help other young people,” he says. “I try to motivate my fans to make a difference as much as they can.”
The directive clearly worked on June 23, when Bieber introduced Someday at Macy’s Herald Square in New York to crowds that numbered in the hundreds. “I’m old enough to remember The Beatles in Shea Stadium and I got the same feeling that day,” says Give Back’s Hollander. “The noise was deafening.”
The team considered holding the launch in Times Square, but Hollander says they opted for a more intimate event “so that people could really get a chance to see Justin.” Still, Hollander assures, "There was an enormous amount of security."
So when will fans see Bieber next? The 17-year-old is soon to start work on his second full-length studio album, the follow-up to 2010’s My World 2.0, but for now, Bieber is taking a breather (when he’s not crashing weddings with his girlfriend Selena Gomez). “I’ve been working so hard, I’m taking a month off,” he says. “It’s been great to just think and enjoy hanging out with my friends. I’m still growing up, and when you’re working every day, you don’t really get a chance to figure out who you are. So with the time off, I’m able to think, pray and just kind of grow up.”
And rest? “For sure," he says. "I’ve been sleeping in a lot.”

Justin Bieber scent to become 2011's best-selling fragrance?

The teen heartthrob's Someday perfume has made $1 million a week in sales at Macy's store alone since its launch three weeks ago.

Karen Grant, vice president and senior global industry analyst of market research firm NPD, commented: "If it sustains this momentum, it will become the number-one-selling fragrance of 2011...We haven't seen anything like it since [Jennifer Lopez's] Glow and [Britney Spears'] Curious."
According to trade paper Women's Wear Daily, Bieber's new reign over the lucrative celebrity scent business might only be rivaled by Beyoncé's Heat, which earned the singer $3 million over the first month.

Justin Bieber is headed for the record books now that the new Bieber perfume called Someday has earned more than $3 million in sales in only three weeks.

According to New York Daily News, Justin Bieber will soon have another record on his hands with Someday, after the perfume sold more than $3 million in sales at Macy's since the New York launch three weeks ago. Terry Lundgren, president of Macy’s, revealed that Someday is the biggest fragrance launch in the store’s history. Justin Bieber perfume sets Macy's record

It’s been just three weeks since Justin Bieber’s perfume, Someday, made its debut at Macy’s, and it has already become the department store’s biggest celebrity fragrance launch, eclipsing other big names like Rihanna, Jessica Simpson, and Jennifer Lopez.

Of course, sales might have experienced a boost due to the fact that the first 325 fans that shelled out $135 for the Someday gift set on June 23rd at Macy’s Herald Square got to take a photo with Justin. Hey, J-Lo! I don’t remember you doing anything like that.
Another thing that might have helped sales is Justin Bieber’s dedication to sharing the wealth. He’s donating net profits from perfume sales to the Make-A-Wish Foundation and Pencils of Promise, an organization that builds schools in developing countries.
Justin shared his enthusiasm in an email, saying, “I’m excited and humbled at the news about Someday. It means a lot to me that my fans are there to support. And the best part for me is that my favorite charities are going to share in the success. It is important to pay it forward.”
Paul West, the chairman and CEO of the charity-minded beauty company, Give Back Brands, was also excited about the success of Justin’s Someday. “Justin’s fans have spoken,” said West. “This incredible fragrance and Justin’s massive worldwide appeal paired with the idea that you can buy something you love and at the same time contribute to a meaningful cause proved to be an incredibly compelling proposition.”

Justin Bieber - Justin Bieber's Perfume Rakes In Over 3 Million

Justin Bieber's debut fragrance has generated over $3 million in sales in just three weeks and could become the best-selling perfume of 2011.
Justin Bieber's debut perfume looks set to become the top-selling perfume of 2011.

The 17-year-old singer's women's scent, Someday, generated more than $3 million in retail sales at Macy's in New York in under three weeks and experts are already hailing its debut on June 23 as the most successful celebrity fragrance launch in history.
Karen Grant, vice president and senior global industry analyst of the NPD Group Inc., said: "If it sustains this momentum, it will become the number-one-selling fragrance of 2011. We haven't seen anything like it since [Jennifer Lopez's] Glow and [Britney Spears'] Curious."
To launch the fragrance, Justin made a personal appearance at Macy's, where the first 325 fans who purchased the $135 Someday gift set had their pictures taken with the 'Baby' hitmaker and the store believe the star's presence propelled the fragrance's high sales.
Terry Lundgren, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Macy's Inc., told WWD: "Justin Bieber's Someday fragrance, propelled by Justin's incredible personal appearance at Macy's Herald Square, has resonated with our customers, and has now become the biggest celebrity fragrance launch on record."
Following's its success in Macy's, other US stores - including Dillard's, Boscov's, Belk, Nordstrom, Lord & Taylor, Sephora and Ulta - are now stocking the fragrance, while it will also be sold overseas, including in the UK, Australia, Germany and New Zealand.
The fragrance was created through Give Back Brands - a company designed for entertainers to use to raise money for good causes - and the proceeds will go to several charities, including the Make-A-Wish Foundation and Pencils of Promise, an initiative which builds schools.
Robert Hollander, president of Give Back Brands, said: "Justin Bieber Someday has launched to numbers that are nothing short of astounding, making this the industry's single most successful celebrity fragrance launch. Our retail partners simply cannot keep it in stock. Justin has truly made his mark on the fragrance industry, and we could not be more proud of this partnership."

Justin Bieber's Someday sells big

If Justin Bieber ever tires of the music industry, at least he has a career option to fall back on: cosmetic sales. Bieber’s nail polish collaboration with Nicole by OPI sold over million bottles and now, according to recent reports, Bieber’s fragrance for women Someday sold $30 million at Macy’s. This is an impressive number to start out with, but only time will tell if the fragrance sales reach $100 million within the first year.

Someday is a romantic scent with floral notes and a cute little round bottle with a heart shaped neck/cap that was designed to look like a pretty flower. Its a youthful and playful scent that young girls wear in hopes to feel closer to their favorite teen star.
It seems that today’s celebrities have become more than just an individual entertainer, they come as a whole marketing franchise that includes everything from tee shirts, collector dolls, and of course a fragrance or two. It looks like Justin Bieber has a knack for creating cosmetics and beauty products, or maybe its just his loyal fans who want a piece of everything he’s created. Have you tried his new fragrance yet? What do you think(or hope) that Justin creates next?

Selena Gomez disses Someday?

Justin Bieber gave his girlfriend Selena Gomez a bottle of his new perfume, Someday, but the starlet won’t wear it!
Justin Bieber was so excited about his new perfume, Someday, that he gave a bottle to his girlfriend Selena Gomez and to his mom.

"Selena has got a bottle but she stopped wearing it when she realized Justin’s mother was wearing it too," a source said. "Selena doesn’t want to smell like Justin’s mom and she feels the scent is more for his fans anyway."
Bieber said he developed the scent of the fragrance "100 percent" and said he loves the way it smells. "If I was at a meet-and-greet and smelled this on a certain someone, then I would be like, 'Wow, that smells really good.'"
Talk about a good promoter! You know every girl out there with Bieber fever will be dousing herself with Someday perfume before a Justin Bieber concert.
He told People that the name is inspired by fulfilling your dreams in life. "It explains a dream. Someday I will drive a BMW. Someday I will be an astronaut."
The Biebs revealed he is sticking to female fragrances... for now. "I’m not opposed to it," Bieber said about creating a male scent, "but I’m more into how females smell."
Is he offended by Selena’s refusal to wear his perfume? I can understand her reservations -- and, honestly, I’m kind of surprised she hasn’t launched her own perfume.

Justin Bieber Rules Out Male Fragrance

Teenage heartthrob Justin Bieber won't release a male fragrance because it is ''smarter'' to work on female perfumes.
Justin Bieber has no plans to release a male fragrance because he is more interested in how girls smell.

The 'Baby' singer's debut perfume Someday is for females and although he is not opposed to working on a scent for guys, he thinks it was "smarter" to work on a feminine fragrance because guys always notice when the opposite sex smells good.
He told ET Canada: "I'm not opposed to [working on a male fragrance] but I'm more into how females smell.
"Guys are the people smelling the perfume on the girls. It's not the other girls . so I think that's the smarter thing."
Justin is so happy with Someday - which he was "100 per cent involved in" - he hopes his fans will wear it when they come to his personal appearances.
He explained: "If I was at a meet-and-greet and smelled this on a certain someone, then I would be like, 'Wow, that smells really good.' "
Justin also revealed Someday was inspired by achieving your dreams which is why the accompanying commercial features actress Dree Hemingway portraying a fan whose ambition is to meet him.
He explained to People magazine: "It explains a dream. Someday I will drive a BMW. Someday I will be an astronaut.
"In the commercial, [co-star Dree's] someday was meeting me. So when she sprayed on the perfume, I appeared in the room and we floated off into this place . that's what I perceive it as."

Justin Bieber a marketing disaster when left on his own?

Justin Bieber appears to know as much about women's fragrances as a prima ballerina would know about being a lumberjack. When Bieber recently needed to make a few comments about his new woman's fragrance, he really could not find the right words.

The mega pop star looks really pulled together in his new fragrance commercial, but take the scripts and teleprompters away, this becomes another story all together.

On Friday, while he was out promoting his fragrance, Justin needed to talk about his new perfume and he did, to the best of his ability and right off the cuff, according to Styleite. Bieber started to stumble as soon as he opened his mouth:

"I just think that, um, what we decided to do — making the fragrance for females, and you know, not getting a cologne for males — I just think that, you know, I said it before and I'll say it again, I'm more concerned about how, how girls smell. So, yeah, 'cause I'm a guy, and I know what smells good, and I know what I like. So I think that's what females, you know, what girls should know is that if he likes it, then, you know, other guys are gonna like it. So, yeah."

A kid this age isn't expected know about a woman's fragrance, so it was refreshing to see that he is just a normal 17-year-old kid. This could be a marketing nightmare for the company who has Bieber promoting "Someday," but chances are they will take it as funny and endearing to see him make such an effort. He tried to sound very much on top of things, but this didn't work.

While his face, popularity with the young girls, and his name on the bottle are enough to sell a fragrance no matter how it smells, he is still out promoting this product in the stores. It might help if someone went over a few lines with him if he gets in this predicament again.

Some kid named Justin - Review Someday release

My daughter suggested that to avoid embarrassment I do some research on Justin Bieber before heading down to Macy's on Thursday. The teen heartthrob was going to be making a personal appearance to promote his new perfume, called Someday. I wondered what she was worried about. Was she afraid I was going to embarrass myself in front of a bunch of screaming teenage girls by coming up blank if they grilled me about Justin's pets or hobbies?

And speaking of teenage girls, Lucy warned me that reaction to Justin was equivalent to Beatlemania, not that she was suggesting I wear protective padding or that the 17-year-old was writing "A Day in the Life"-caliber material. Perhaps I should have taken her advice and done some homework. But I had a feeling this was going to be one of those self-explanatory columns—that I was but a conduit to bring the teen idol and his fans ever slightly closer together, or at least that I was an innocent shill, a cog in the Someday perfume (and matching lotion and hair spray) merchandizing machinery. In other words, everything I needed to know I could learn off a press release and a scent strip.

But where were all the 15-year-old girls? Oh, there they were! I hadn't noticed them at first, perhaps because they were ubiquitous; they were everywhere—squeezed behind barricades in the handbag department, lining the mezzanine-level balcony in front of Starbucks. Through the Macy's windows I glimpsed hundreds, perhaps thousands, more of them outside on 35th street, being restrained by NYPD cops and Macy's security.

I tentatively approached several young ladies behind one of the handbag department barriers—Maggie, 15, and her friends Brianna, also 15, and Alexa, 13. "Can you try to get Adam to come over here?" Maggie pleaded. "I know Adam."

"Who's Adam?" I asked.

Maybe my daughter was right; I should have done a Justin Bieber internet search before heading down to the store.

"Adam Braun."

Mr. Braun, it turns out, is the brother of Justin Bieber's manager, Scooter Braun. He runs a nonprofit that builds schools in the developing world.

"I met him through Pencils of Promise," Maggie explained. "If he comes over here he'll recognize me. I just need"—the word need delivered in a plaintive yet throwaway tone—"him to come over here."

There's something at once chilling and yet moving about hundreds of teenage girls shrieking in unison, as they started to do now, even though their hero was nowhere in sight. ("They're on 37th and Park," I heard one operative wearing an earplug whisper to another.) You'd even be forgiven for believing that all that adolescent energy and yearning could raise the dead, change the world, perhaps even melt the Midtown traffic that was making Justin 40 minutes late.

I pointed out to Maggie that once Justin—not to mention Adam—arrived, all would probably be chaos. Did she really think that Mr. Braun, as well-intentioned as he undoubtedly was, would be able to break away from the star's entourage (as well as the security cordon), saunter over, remember Maggie and compliment her contribution to Pencils for Peace, or Promise, or whatever the organization was called?

"Yes," she insisted. "If you try."

The crowd launched into "Baby," Justin's biggest hit—indeed the mainstay of his nascent oeuvre. Next, the Fire Department rushed in with a defibrillator. A few minutes later they departed pushing a teenager in a wheelchair. She was clutching a water bottle and looking pale and sheepish. Mannequins and potted plants that Macy's had neglected to remove and were now being crushed by the throng were passed to safety overhead by Macy's employees.

Needless to say, Adam Braun, if he was even there, never made it over to Maggie. All was chaos, or at least grand disorganization, from the moment Justin Bieber passed through the department store's 35th Street and Broadway entrance. He looked out of sorts, his body language all wrong. I don't know what the problem was, but it might have had something to do with being swallowed by a sea of adult handlers, publicists, Macy's executives and perfume-brand representatives. There were also dozens of Macy's workers, recruited to hold back the crowds in case all hell broke loose. "If it gets too serious," one of them had confided a few minutes before Justin's arrival, "I'm going up the escalator."

The small-for-his-age teen idol mounted the stage, somehow managed a billion-dollar smile, this Canadian's All-American features more than up to the mayhem. Then he took the microphone and shouted, "What's up, everybody?" The response was predictably ecstatic, even though the children couldn't see him posing with a bottle of "Someday," their view utterly obscured by the media viewing platform and Macy's merchandise-laden aisles.

Perhaps it was to ameliorate their disappointment that Mr. Bieber apparently decided to make an unscripted, spur-of-the-moment visit to his fans outdoors, just behind the stage. I couldn't see what happened next, except he was back a moment later nursing his arm. Apparently, pandemonium had ensued at the sight of him, the barricades were breached and Mr. Bieber's security started to scuffle with a plainclothes cop who tried to come to his rescue but was mistaken for an assailant.

The heartthrob appeared unhappy but also uninjured, and was promptly whisked upstairs to the eighth-floor fine-china department, where he was to meet and greet fans who'd camped out overnight for the privilege of paying $135 for the perfume, the matching Touchable body lotion, Swept Away hair mist and a photo with Justin.

I wondered what Macy's was thinking by sequestering hundreds of panting teenage girls among displays of fragile Waterford crystal and Lenox dinnerware. Fortunately, all went smoothly—if you can count waiting another hour for the star to reappear a productive afternoon. I assumed he was backstage licking his wounds, or reading the riot act to his handlers. But apparently he was giving media interviews. I can't say I felt disappointed I'd missed the sign-up sheet. What would I have asked: "How's the arm?"; "Is that the delicate scent of jasmine I detect in the hair mist?"

Justin eventually reappeared, introduced by Macy's CEO Terry Lundgren. He said a couple of nice things about the fragrance and had his photo taken with all 325 lucky perfume purchasers, some of them with tears streaking their cheeks. Given a choice, I think I'd prefer to peak in my 50s.

Obama makes good on promise to set up 9/11 teen with Bieber

Bam delivered the Biebs.
Payton Wall's world was torn apart when her dad died on 9/11 -- but President Obama brightened the New Jersey teen's life by making good on his promise to set up a meeting with his "buddy" Justin Bieber.
IT'S HIM! Justin Bieber stands with a President Obama cutout and fans Payton and Avery Wall and Madison Roberson (from left) after Payton told the president last month at Ground Zero she longed to meet the pop star.

Wall, who listened to the teen heartthrob's lyrics during her darkest days, asked the president to make her dream come true at last month's Ground Zero wreath laying -- and on Thursday her wish was fulfilled.
"It was so cool. I couldn't even believe it," gushed Payton, who got a private sit-down with the Canadian crooner at Macy's in Herald Square. They met just moments after a near-riot among fans outside the store where the singer was promoting his fragrance "Someday."
Doused in the sweet-smelling perfume, Payton, her sister Avery, 12, and best friend Madison Roberson, 14, embraced the perfectly coifed pop singer in a VIP section on the store's eighth floor.
"He just said 'Hi,' " said Payton, who admitted she was more nervous around Bieber than the president.
"He was asking us about the perfume and if we were wearing it."
It was an uplifting moment for the starry-eyed threesome from New Jersey -- whose dads, Cantor Fitzgerald executives Glen James Wall and Donny Robertson, were killed in the Twin Towers on 9/11.
The girls carried a life-size cardboard cutout of Obama and were so overcome with shyness, they could barely get any words out when the teenybopper showed up. "He was really nice and is so cute," Avery beamed. "He didn't even look real."
Payton and her BFF Madison began a letter-writing campaign to meet Bieber months ago. Payton mailed her plea to entertainment-industry honchos and to the White House, where Obama read it in early May.
Obama invited the teen, her sister, and mom Diane, to a wreath-laying ceremony at Ground Zero last month -- where Payton again made her request to the president.
"I know Justin," Obama told her. "Maybe I could set something up."

Cry me a Bieber Crush of fans rattles 'Baby'-faced singer

TWEEN HEARTTHROB Justin Bieber got a scare yesterday when pandemonium broke out at a midtown promotional event and one of his bodyguards scuffled with a plainclothes cop.

The hair-raising incident outside Macy's flagship store in Herald Square happened as a large crowd of mostly screaming teen girls surged toward the 17-year-old "Baby" singer, knocking down metal police barricades.
When an unidentified plainclothes cop stepped up to protect Bieber from the unruly crowd, one of the Canadian crooner's bodyguards grabbed him and tried to pull him away.
Bieber was quickly ushered into the store, where he signed autographs and launched his new fragrance for women, "Someday."
"My fans are crazy. They wait out in the rain and anything, so they're crazy, they're awesome!" Bieber told MTV.com once order was restored.
His overprotective bodyguard, Moshe Benabou, 48, of Panama City, Fla., was issued a summons for disorderly conduct, police said.
"He [Bieber] was walking into the store and people got too excited and started pushing the barrier down," said Tara Robinson, 18, who spent three hours waiting in the intermittent rain for a glimpse of the pop sensation.
"He didn't even have time to wave at his fans," Robinson said. "I was yelling, 'Justin!' They ruined the moment for us."
Cops denied initial reports that a middle-age man jumped the barricades and knocked Bieber to the ground.
"Bieber wasn't touched. Bieber wasn't hurt," a police source said.
Bieber was not scheduled to venture outside the store to greet fans, but decided at the last minute to appease the crowd chanting, "We want Bieber!" and singing his hit song "Baby."
Some fans had been camped out since 5 a.m.
Amber Wende, 13, of New Jersey, and three of her friends had one of their mothers drive them to the city before dawn so they could track Bieber's every move.
"We went to the 'Today' show, then 'The View' and to Macy's," said Amber, huddled with her pals under a purple blanket plastered with Bieber's face.
Amber said they nearly fainted when they saw Bieber getting into a car outside the "Today" show.
"He stared at us for 10 seconds. I know he saw us," said Amber's friend, Taylor McGlashan, 14.
It wasn't the first time the flop-haired performer has sparked a ruckus at a New York department store.
In November 2009, more than 3,000 fans nearly rioted at Roosevelt Field Mall in Garden City, L.I., while waiting to see the object of their obsession. Five people were injured and one man was arrested as overwhelmed cops canceled the event and dispersed the rowdy crowd.

Justin Bieber and Jimmy Fallon do ‘Somedays’ together

Justin Bieber gets it: His commercial for his new fragrance ‘Someday’ is cheesy. But instead of moping around about what we call an “‘SNL’ spoof gone terribly wrong” — featuring piggy-back rides through floating clouds — he decides to do his own mock skit, with ‘SNL’ veteran and talk show host Jimmy Fallon.

Incorporating a black-and-white, hazy motif, Justin tantalizes his audience with squinty eyes and a husky whisper: “Someday … We’ll be together,” he says into the camera. Then he adds (with a straight face), “Someday … I’ll be older … Fatter,” before Jimmy Fallon jumps in to the picture, sporting the same leather jacket and mop of hair and repeating the uncomfortable, yet sensualizing slogan. Fallon adds, ‘Someday … You’ll look like this,” pointing to himself and using excuses like “I just got busy” and “your metabolism changes a bit.”
“I can even eat five slices of pizza and not gain an ounce,” is how Biebs responds. Did we mention this is all still in a whisper?? But before they go off on too much of a tangent, Bieber kindly asks Fallon, “Wanna do more ‘Somedays’”?
The two talk about the important things we think all about in the near future, such as one day when “video games will be an Olympic sport” and when “we’ll have robot arms and eat tacos made out of light.”

It’s an entertaining minute-and-a-half that sort of redeems Bieber from his initial attempt to win us over with his fragrance commercial. After all, we gotta be easy on the guy, he was just taken down by an undercover police officer at Macy’s promoting the fragrance.
So yes, Biebs, we forgive you.

Justin Bieber's Fragrance: How Will Sales Stack Up To Other Music Artists

Following in the footsteps of notable pop stars like Britney Spears and Beyonce, 17-year-old singer Justin Bieber this month released his second fragrance, Someday. If it launches anywhere near expectations, the "fruity gourmand" scent could earn up to $30 million in sales.

Someday is a follow-up to Bieber's first fragrance, the unisex-marketed My World, and his branded line of nail polish. While it is rare for a male celebrity to promote a women's perfume, the product seems to be a natural fit for Bieber's enthusiastic adolescent female fanbase.
A large crowd of those excited, anxious Bieber devotees gathered at Macy's Herald Square in New York City on June 23 in anticipation of a special launch event. Initial reports from the event alleged that Bieber was pushed to the ground in a scuffle with an undercover police officer, but a rep for the singer later told The Hollywood Reporter that it was "a momentary, well-intentioned misunderstanding that was quickly resolved".
Regardless, that kind of turnout and subsequent buzz bodes well for Someday's sales numbers. Muriel Gonzalez, executive vice president and general merchandise manager of cosmestics, fragrances and shoes at Macy's, told Women's Wear Daily that the Bieber fragrance would be "the biggest launch we've ever had".
Bieber is not the first music artist to triumph in the fragrance market. According to a 2010 Forbes report, Jennifer Lopez's 2002 scent Glow earned over $100 million in its first year on the market. Britney Spears' first fragrance, Curious, matched that total when it was released in 2004, and still routinely appears on "best of" and "readers' choice" lists in consumer magazines. Beyonce Knowles set the latest benchmark last year when her scent Heat raked in $3 million at Macy's in its first month alone.
Fragrances from Mary J. Blige, Jessica Simpson, Sean "Diddy" Combs, and Mariah Carey have also seen impressive sales numbers. And while Madonna has yet to endorse or launch a fragrance, WWD estimated in 2007 that the Material Girl's name alone could propel a fragrance brand to global sales upward of $200 million.
Bieber's Someday is available from retailers including Macy's, Nordstrom, and Sephora at prices ranging from $20 to $55. All proceeds will be donated to a handful of earmarked charities.

Scuffle at Justin Bieber event 'a misunderstanding'

Police said a 47-year-old man standing in the doorway refused to step aside and had to be physically moved.
The 17-year-old Canadian singer, Justin Bieber, was not injured in the scuffle

New York: A scuffle outside a Macy's department store where Justin Bieber was attending a promotional event on Thursday for his new fragrance was "a misunderstanding," the singer's representative said.

"This was a momentary, well-intentioned misunderstanding that was quickly resolved, and the event went very well," said publicist Melissa Victor in an email.

The incident happened outside the Broadway entrance of Macy's in Manhattan.

Police said Bieber's representatives contacted them to say he wanted to go outside to greet fans.
Police set up a small pen where he could do so. Bieber left the pen and went straight to the main barricade holding back an estimated 500 people.

The crowd surged forward and the barricade started to come down. Police officers and Bieber's personal security detail then surrounded him to usher him back inside.
Police said a 47-year-old man standing in the doorway refused to step aside and had to be physically moved.
The man was issued a summons for disorderly conduct and released. Police learned later that he was a member of the singer's security team.

The 17-year-old Canadian singer was not injured in the scuffle. Inside Bieber seemed unfazed. He gave interviews to the press, posed for photographs and with fans.

Justin Bieber - Justin Bieber Reacts To Macys 'Attack'

Justin Bieber, the 17-year-old Canadian pop sensation, has taken to his Twitter page to describe yesterday's events in New York as "wild". Justin Bieber was tackled to the ground by an undercover police officer while promoting his new perfume 'Someday' at MACy's in Manhattan, reports Abc News.

Bieber had stepped outside the store to meet thousands of waiting fans, when one individual jumped the barrier and tackled the 17-year-old to the ground. As the singer' security staff pounced on who they assumed was a crazed fan, Bieber managed to be escorted back inside the department store. The singer's spokesperson later confirmed the 'attacker' was simply an undercover police officer attempting to protect Justin from the over-excited crowd. The singer still appeared visibly shaken as he posed for photographs with fans inside the store and in a Twitter post noted, "New York. Wild Day", before adding, "ilovemyfans and for those i didnt get to see today....thank u for your love and support". Despite the incident, the 'Baby' hit-maker later attended the premiere of his girlfriend Selena Gomez's new movie 'Monte Carlo'.

It was announced on Wednesday that Justin Bieber would be appearing at this week's Bet Awards in Los Angeles. The singer will be joining the likes of Queen Latifah, Bruno Mars, Gladys Knight and Nicki Minaj.

Justin Bieber gets tackled during fragrance unveiling in New York

Justin Bieber is diversified, which keeps the teen titan in the black but also apparently forces him to learn a little bit of jujitsu.

During an appearance at Macy’s in New York City to present his brand new fragrance (which is cryptically called Someday), he was accosted by a man who hopped a barricade outside the store.
According to the local New York ABC affiliate, Bieber was holding court inside the store but decided to head out onto the sidewalk to shake some hands and sign some autographs for the thousands of tweens who gathered to get a glimpse of the him but were denied entry into the store.
Bieber took a swing back at the man, who has not been identified, and was not hurt in the incident. UPDATE: According to new reports, the man in question was a plainclothes police officer who was attempting to help the singer and was restrained by Bieber’s bodyguards.
You can track the brief altercation in the video after the jump, but be warned that it’s taken from quite a distance (though it really captures the size of the crowd) and contains a lot of NSFW potty-mouthed narration from the knuckle-headed videographers.
Bieber’s other appearances around New York were a lot less intense, including his visit to The View (which saw him roll around the set on a Segway) and a drop-in on The Late Show With David Letterman (where he read the Top 10).
Neither of those ended in him being tackled, but considering he walked away unscathed, maybe his next source of income should be from MMA fights (just like fellow Canadian George St-Pierre).

Justin Bieber survives a wild day in New York City

Justin Bieber attacked by a strange man? Justin Bieber knocked to the ground? Justin Bieber mobbed by fans gone wild outside Macy's Herald Square? The story people heard all depended on what time they checked in on the drama that unfolded Thursday around the pop star's appearance at Macy's Herald Square in New York.
Fans, top and bottom, hit Macy's Herald Square in Manhattan to see Justin Bieber, left, at the launch of his fragrance, Someday.

Long story short: The Biebs is just fine, the strange man was actually a plainclothes cop, and police said the pop star wasn't touched, only his bodyguard. By the way, the NYPD said later, the misunderstanding was the bodyguard's fault -- which is why members of Bieber's security team were cited for disorderly conduct.
Now back to the real stars of the Macy's Herald Square appearance: the girls. The store was overrun with them in a frenzied, tweenage mess of pink and purple, a tangle of braces, braids and bubble gum, drawn by their idol's efforts to launch a new fragrance, Someday. (All proceeds from the perfume, launched Monday by Give Back Brands, will be donated to charity.)
Screaming in unison with faces flushed and arms thrust in the air, the deafening cacophony of 300-some girls' high-pitched wailing echoed throughout the store. Even the security guards were wincing and covering their ears.

At 2:30 in the afternoon, it had already been an exhausting day for the pop star. There was an early morning appearance live on the "Today" show, then "The View" and a taping of "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon" -- all after having appeared on "Late Show With David Letterman" on Wednesday.
Bieber worked his way down the VIP purple carpet inside Macy's, greeting fans and a throng of media near a nearly 2-foot high Someday bottle topped with a pink and crimson flower. Perfume counters flanked the stage and walls of TV screens repeatedly played Bieber's sexy perfume commercial.
The chanting swelled: "Justin, Justin, Justin." And then: "Hey everybody..." Bieber was onstage -- cue an eruption of paparazzi-like flashbulbs and more shrieking from fans. Then: "OK, love you, peace," he said before sauntering offstage.
Who knew that was the tame part? The event was, understandably, not without a little drama. For the next several hours, Bieber would do a feverish junket of TV interviews upstairs on the 8th floor, where he also personally greeted and took pictures with the first 350 fans to buy his VIP gift set. One girl passed out, another child got lost, and the tears -- of both frustration and ecstasy -- flowed. Some mothers beamed as their offspring posed with arms around the man of the moment; other moms picked fights with Macy's staff, outraged that their kids hadn't gotten $135 worth of face time with the teen idol.

And of course there was the drama outside, when Bieber was greeting voracious fans outside the store. After the barrier-jumping brouhaha went down, he re-entered the store cradling his elbow as security hovered protectively around him.
But none of this dampened his fans' spirits. "It feels like he's a part of us," shrieked 14-year-old Melissa Lamorena. "He, like, made [the perfume]. And if we're wearing it, we're close to him!"
And doesn't Bieber know it: "#ilovemyfans and for those i didnt get to see today....thank u for your love and support. #wegohard #teambieber #someday," he tweeted late Thursday.
