Justin Bieber had some harsh words for a security guard outside the BET Awards. Here's how it all went down.

Justin Bieber has a mouth on him. The teen idol got all riled up at the BET Awards last week when one of the on-site security guards wouldn't let Bieber's own bodyguard through the gate -- even though Bieber was a presenter.

TMZ has a video of the altercation. In it, you can see it all started because Bieber's bodyguard didn't have a ticket. BET security was utterly inflexible, repeating over and over, "You gotta have a ticket... You know how many security guys I've turned down today?"

Bieber was attacked outside of Macy's in New York City just days earlier and was not going anywhere without his bodyguard -- and he let the doorman know it.

"I need my security with me," Bieber said. "This guy's a douchebag."

Eventually BET staffers let Bieber's whole crew inside. A rep for the BET Awards brushed off the incident, saying, "It is our standard policy to make sure everyone has their tickets or credential upon arrival. Justin had the proper credentials."

Justin Bieber is one of the biggest superstars on the planet, but a number of sources close to the musical phenom report Bieber’s diva-like behavior has been showcasing an ego as large as his worldwide popularity.

While the pop star’s outbursts — like when he blasted a BET Awards show official Sunday for refusing to admit a Bieber bodyguard — are regular occurrences, one Bieber buddy has another take on it all.

“Yes, Justin can get testy at times, but who wouldn’t considering he is hounded by the paparazzi and other media types 24/7. Remember, he’s just a kid and, I think, is extremely mature for someone his age,” the source said.

Another source on Team Bieber reveals the singer has a calming influence: his girlfriend, Selena Gomez.

“Maybe it’s because she ‘gets’ it, fully understands the whole fame thing because she deals with it herself,” said the Bieber defender. “But boy, she sure can make him laugh at the insanity of it all, and get him to relax and have fun.”

Justin Bieber - Bieber's Bet Awards Confrontation

Justin Bieber was involved in a showdown at the Bet Awards after one of his bodyguards was denied entrance to the Los Angeles bash.

A doorman refused to let a member of Bieber's security staff into the ceremony at the Shrine Auditorium because he did not have a ticket.

In video footage obtained by Tmz.com, members of the singer's entourage can be seen arguing with the bouncer before Bieber interjects, declaring: "I need my security with me!"

Referring to the attendant, the 17 year old then adds, "This guy's a douchebag."

A spokesperson for Bet has downplayed the incident, insisting, "It is our standard policy to make sure everyone has their tickets or credential upon arrival. Justin had the proper credentials."

The Baby hitmaker and his entire team eventually made it inside the event, where the teen presented an award onstage with Nicki Minaj.

JUSTIN Bieber stepped out to support his celebrity friends at the BET Awards last night.

And the 17-year-old singer sent out a message to Twitter followers urging them to do the same – with their less glitzy mates of course.

Hanging out with the likes of BET Award winners Chris Brown, Jaden and Willow Smith, plus Nicki Minaj, Justin Bieber also attended in place of good pal Usher.

Getting up on stage with eccentric artist Nicki Minaj, the pair invited equally as loopy fans to join them in the spotlight.

Justin Bieber attended the BET Awards last night and was proud of pals including Nicki Minaj.

With several of Nicki’s ‘Barbies’ donning pink wigs in tribute to their idol, many Beliebers opted for t-shirts and posters instead.

In addition to their stunt, the stars presented an award to Best Male Hip-Hop Artist Kanye West, whose ex-girlfriend Amber Rose was present and all over her new man Wiz Khalifa.

Before announcing Kanye West as the recipient of the Best Male Hip-Hop Artist award, the 'Baby' hitmaker tells the 'Moment 4 Life' raptress he can handle her curves.

Justin Bieber gets flirty with Nicki Minaj while on-stage at 2011 BET Awards. On Sunday night, June 26, the "Never Say Never" singer took the stage inside Los Angeles' Shrine Auditorium to present the Best Male Hip-Hop Artist kudo with the "Your Love" raptress, and he made use the moment to hit on his fellow presenter. 

Both Justin and Nicki first hit the stage with a small group of their fans, the "Beliebers" and the "Barbies". They got engaged in a light-hearted battle about their fan bases before Justin mentioned he is almost 18. When Nicki then asked him if he can handle curves, the teen pop sensation confidently replied, "Yes, I can." 

Justin and Nicki later announced that Kanye West beat the likes of B.o.B, Drake and Lil Wayne and Rick Ross for the Male Hip-Hop Artist award. Before taking the stage, Justin tweeted, "Having a great time at the #betawards. Getting ready to get on stage with my girl @nickiminaj." 

2011 BET Awards saw Chris Brown nailing five kudos that included FANdemonium Award, Viewers' Choice and Video of the Year. Taraji P. Henson and Idris Elba won Best Actress and Actor respectively, while Serena Williams was honored with Sportswoman of the Year. A little mix-up occurred when the winner of the Viewers' Choice was announced.

Willow Smith, Jaden Smith, Justin Bieber: Young fasion at BET Awards

Willow Smith, Jaden Smith and Justin Bieber walked the red carpet at the BET Awards show on Sunday afternoon in Los Angeles. Looking different than the older stars who walked the red carpet, they were representing the teens who were watching the show. Definitely styling the young fashion of the red carpet, all three entertainers took risks that their fans could appreciate.

Justin Bieber took on a cut off approach with a simpe blue jean sleeveless jacket over a black t-shirt. Adding a big chain and given the look a pair of sunglasses, it was one of the simple, but classy looks of the evening.

Jaden Smith took on a more college look with a varsity type jacket and a LA ball cap. With tiger stripe jeans and his pair of glasses hanging off his pants pockets, standing next to Justin Bieber, the two looked like pals.

Willow Smith paid homage to her father with a Prince t-shirt, a red jacket and a pair of shorts. Adding to the look her black boots and well done hair. Looking confident as ever, the young lady seemed to know her style.

Keeping the young fashion fresh and affordable, even the youngest of fans could easily pick up the accessories to look like their favorite star and still have change in their pocket (and their parents approval).

Justin Bieber has been confirmed as a performer at tonight's 2011 BET Awards, and he's keeping his performance a surprise, and with his single 'Next 2 You' hitting the charts, we wonder if he'll be taking the stage with Chris Brown.

The 'Baby' singer has claimed that he won't reveal the surprise until the night, even if it was a life or death situation, meaning that the teen definitely has something up his sleeve. But Bieber did say that he wants fellow Canadian Drake to win big.

In an interview with MTV News US, Bieber said: "You never know. I will never tell you, ever, even if there was a fire right now. I wouldn't tell you. I can't tell you [or I'd] have to kill you."

At tonight's ceremony, which will be hosted at Los Angeles' Shrine Auditiorium, Alicia Keys, Chris Brown, Drake, Jill Scott and Queen Latifah will all be taking to the stage.

Chris Brown leads the way with six nominations, followed by Lil Wayne with five, while Drake, Kanye West and Rihanna have received four.

Bieber is giving all of his support to Drizzy, as he said: "I'm rooting for Drake. Drake is my homey."

Justin Bieber isn't nominated in any of the categories at this Sunday's 2011 BET Awards, but that isn't stopping the teen superstar from making an appearance. With so many of his pals up for prizes at the show, it's anyone's guess what the Biebs might do come awards day, and he's keeping it a surprise.

"You never know. I will never tell you, ever, even if there was a fire right now," the singer joked to MTV News on Thursday at a New York City event for his fragrance, Someday. "I wouldn't tell you. I can't tell you [or I'd] have to kill you." 

Usher, Chris Brown, Drake, former crush Beyoncé and Kanye West are among the performers nominated this year and they're also pals of Bieber's. And while he's excited for all of them, Justin said he's rooting hardest for his countryman. "I'm rooting for Drake," he said of his fellow Canadian. "Drake is my homey." 

Brown has six nods, Lil Wayne has five, and Kanye West, Drake and Rihanna each have four. The Video of the Year category has a surprising mix of contenders, including Willow Smith for "Whip My Hair," Marsha Ambrosius' "Far Away," B.o.B's "Airplanes," Brown's "Look at Me Now," Hilson's "Pretty Girl Rock" and West's "Runaway." 

In addition to the big-name nominees, among the A-list performers slated to take the stage at Los Angeles' Shrine Auditorium are Beyoncé, Jill Scott, Alicia Keys, Lil Wayne, Drake and Brown. Nicki Minaj and Bruno Mars have also been added to the show's lineup. 

The 2011 BET Awards, hosted by comedian Kevin Hart, air live on Sunday, June 26, at 8 p.m. ET on BET.

Justin Bieber to Appear at BET Awards

The BET Awards honor the best in African American contribution to entertainment, which is exactly why Justin Bieber will be there. The pasty pint-sized Canadian will inject a little Bieb into things when he makes a special appearance at this year's show.

The 17 year-old maestro of tween pop will be at the Black Entertainment Television Awards on June 26 along with singers like Beyonce, Mary J. Blige, Kelly Rowland, Trey Songz, Lil Wayne, Drake, Chris Brown, Alicia Keys and Jill Scott.

Of course, Bieber isn't exactly a newbieb on the BET scene. Last year he received a nomination in the Best New Artist category after the runaway success of his album, My World 2.0.

Bieber has also confessed in the past that he has been heavily influenced by black music, most notably that of Michael Jackson. "He was so broad, everybody loved him, and that's what my goal is - to basically make people happy, to inspire them, and to have everyone root for me," Bieber said last year.

In general, Bieber says he doesn't see music along color lines. It's all good no matter what color you are.

"Music is music," he said, "and I'm definitely influenced by Michael Jackson and Boyz II Men and people who were black artists - that's what I like. But I like their voices and I like how they entertain - it's not about what color they are."

White or not, we'll see if Bieber can fit in when the BET Awards airs live from L.A.'s Shrine Auditorium at 8 p.m. EST on June 26.
