Justin Bieber leads Hollywood celebrities honored at the
2011 Do Something Awards held in Los Angeles, California, Sunday, Aug. 14,
2011.
The Canada’s teen sensation has been recognized for making
not just one but millions “less lonely girls” (and surely some teen boys) for
his music.
At Sunday’s award’s night, the 17-year-old Hollywood
sensation received the Best Music Artist statue for making such a great impact
on his millions of tween fans.
But the tween sensation surely is recognized not only for
his music but equally important, for his philanthropic efforts. It will be
recalled that in February this year, Justin cut his hair and gave a lock to TV
host, Ellen DeGeneres for any charity of her own choice. It was sold at
$40,668!
Justin Bieber is among the first celebrity stars to raise
funds for the devastating twin disaster in Japan and would insist on flying to
the country despite his crew’s protest.
But it was not only Biebs who was honored at this year’s Do
Something Awards hosted by Jane Lynch.
Other celebrities honored for their causes include star
athlete, David Beckham and “Cowboys and Aliens” star, Olivia Wilde. The 2011 Do
Something Awards will be aired on VH1 on Thusday, Aug.18, 2011.
