BRADENTON, Fla., Aug. 15 (UPI) -- A 23-year-old Florida man
is facing theft charges for allegedly stealing a life-size Justin Beiber cutout
from a record store, police say.
David Dowling and a friend entered the F.Y.E. record store
at a Bradenton, Fla., mall Saturday afternoon and left the store without paying
for the Bieber cutout, The Smoking Gun reported.
Dowling and his friend then ran through Sears, but were
apprehended by an F.Y.E. assistant manager.
"The assistant manager of F.Y.E. gave chase and caught
up with them and retrieved the cutout and told them to return with her to the
store," police said.
However, the two fled the mall and were later found outside
hiding in some bushes.
Dowling, who remains in jail in lieu of $120 bond, was
charged with a misdemeanor count for allegedly stealing the cutout, which cost
$34.99.
After his arrest, Dowling told police "We were just
having fun holding Justin Bieber hostage."
