Justin Bieber Earns First Number One Album In The U.K.

Justin Bieber's new record Believe has scored the pop star his first number one album in the U.K.

The 18 year old's much anticipated project fought off competition from British singer Cheryl Cole's A Million Lights, which debuted in second place, and an excited Bieber took to his Twitter.com account to thank fans for their overwhelming support.

He wrote, "All the experts said WE wouldnt (sic) come in at #1 in the UK...I have never had a #1 album there...but u all BelieveD".

Rounding out the top contenders were Paloma Faith's Fall to Grace in third, Our Version of Events by Emeli Sande at four and Amy MacDonald's Life in a Beautiful Light in fifth.

In the U.K. singles chart, Payphone, featuring Maroon 5 and Wiz Khalifa, stole the coveted first place slot from Cole's Call My Name, which fell to number two.

In third is Whistle by Flo Rida, Stooshe's Black Heart entered at four and Coldplay and Rihanna's Princess of China collaboration fell one spot to number five.

David Letterman - Tv Host Apologises To Justin Bieber For Tattoo Attack

U.S. TV late-night host David Letterman was forced to apologise to his pop star guest Justin Bieber during his The Late Show on Thursday night (21Jun12) after grabbing the teenager's newly-tattooed arm, leaving him in pain.

Letterman was trying to persuade the 18 year old not to have any more skin art after spotting the word 'Believe' - the title of Bieber's new album - on the singer's left arm.

And he left the young star wincing in pain as he pretended to wipe the skin art off, stating, "How does that help how you look?"

Ignoring Bieber's pained expression, Letterman urged his guest not to turn his body into the Sistine Chapel, which artist Michelangelo covered with paintings, and then poked fun at the pop star when he responded, "I'm not going for the Sixteenth Chapel look."

A chuckling Letterman then poked fun at Bieber's education, quipping, "Canadian high school!" as his studio audience burst into laughter.

Clearly upset by the mocking, Bieber continued the interview but said, "If you want me to" when the TV host asked him if he was going to perform on the show as scheduled.

Later in the show just before Bieber was to perform, Letterman walked over to him and said, "Are you alright? Is your tattoo OK? Everybody said, 'It's a brand new tattoo and I hurt your tattoo'. I'm sorry.

"And then other people said I was snappish..."

Ever-the-professional, gracious Bieber said, "You were not snappish... You were fine."

Justin Bieber Drops New Single 'As Long As You Love Me'

Teen mega-popstar Justin Bieber has just dropped his new single 'As Long As You Love Me', the final track to be released on iTunes before the Believe album hits the shelf in two weeks. 

And as most Beliebers are excited to hear the entertainer’s new music, this latest track not only incorporates another featured performer, but also gives another new sound from the teen star. 

The track teaser released prior to the song being dropped on iTunes can definitely feel the influence of Usher and Michael Jackson. So we're excited to hear the rest of the album. 

Justin tweeted earlier today: "Internet's on the plane and we got Less than #20Minutes until #AsLongAsYouLoveMe hits ITUNES!!" 

But we hope Justin can cope with all the madness as his schedule is said to be rather intense at the moment. 

On a worldwide tour for the Bieber-fever clad fans, Justin has performed in a few free concerts of late, and today Mexican fans camped in the streets to see him perform his biggest hits live. 

Now that’s dedication.

Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez Enjoy Picnic In The Park

Justin Bieber continues to prove he is the best "Boyfriend" around. The pop star treated his girlfriend of over a year, Selena Gomez, to a romantic picnic in the park.

The teen superstars decided to go for a low-key date, picking up Subway sandwiches and cuddling on a secluded hill in Los Angeles' Griffith Park.

This isn't the first time thethe teen superstars' dates have made headlines. Last year, Bieber rented out Staples Center for a private viewing of "Titanic." Recently, Bieber revealed his secrets to a successful relationship.

"To be a great boyfriend, you just have to have patience," Bieber told E! News. "You're always wrong when it comes to girls, you're always wrong, so just say sorry when things are rough."

Last week, the pair appeared at the Kids' Choice Awards, where Bieber got slimed after winning the Favorite Male Singer award. Yet, Bieber and Gomez haven't been able to spend too much time together lately, due to their hectic schedules.

Gomez recently returned from St. Petersburg, Florida, where she was busy filming her latest flick, "Spring Breakers," starring James Franco and Vanessa Hudgens. As for Bieber, he has been hard at work on his next album, Believe, and is enjoying the success of his latest single, "Boyfriend," which sold an impressive 520,000 downloads in its first week, making it the #2 most-downloaded first-week single.

On Tuesday, Bieber treated his fans to another brief teaser of the "Boyfriend" video. In the clip, fans can see Bieber floating underwater and standing in front of a burning tire swing.

On Wednesday, Bieber reached out to his fans again, thanking them for their continued support of his new song. "U have all been working so hard 4 the #1 spot on BILLBOARD and so have I," Bieber tweeted. "We will get it! #BELIEVE - in the meantime THANK YOU! U R AMAZING."

Justin Bieber thinks One Direction will 'have a lot of fun' with women in the US

The 'Never Say Never' hitmaker - who is dating Selena Gomez - believes girls will go "crazy" for the 'What Makes You Beautiful' singers because they are "genuine good guys" and he's tipped them to be the biggest boy band in the world.

He said: "The single guys from One Direction are going to have a lot of fun.

"They look great, they sound great and, when you add their British accents into the mix, the American girls are going crazy for them.

"Sure you need the talent, but you need to win over the American public, that's what it is all about. One Direction are genuine good guys.

"The industry needs a fresh boy band, and by the end of this year they will be the biggest boy band in the world."

Justin, 18, revealed he knows a big-name star who has the hots for One Direction's Harry Styles - who is in the group alongside Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne, Niall Horan and Zayn Malik - but he has been "sworn to secrecy".

He is quoted by the Daily Mirror newspaper as saying: "I already know one of the biggest artists in the world thinks Harry is so hot, but I have been sworn to secrecy."

One Direction scored a number one with their debut album 'Up all Night' last month while touring in the country in support of Big Time Rush.

The boy band will return to the country in December for their biggest headlining concert to date at New York's Madison Square Garden.

EVERY teenage girl’s dream came true last night when One Direction joined Justin Bieber in the studio.

There hasn’t been pop excitement like it since Duran Duran and Spandau Ballet bumped into each other in the hairdressers back in 1984.

One D — Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, Harry Styles and Zayn Malik — have been busy rehearsing in New York for a huge performance on TV’s Saturday Night Live tomorrow.

Canadian chart topper Justin happened to be recording in the same studio and invited his British pals in for a listen.

Justin finished the chat by saying they should “hook up” again to work on new material.

Niall tweeted: “In the studio with our boy @justinbieber last night, it’s gonna sound great!”

Louis added: “It was just nice to spend some time with someone our own age. Everyone in the band thought he was a really nice guy.”
